Where To Go Ice Skating In NYC


What better way to feel the winter spirit than by ice skating? Show off your skills (or lack thereof) at rinks across the five boroughs. From the year-round ice rink on Governors Island to the quintessential New York experience at the Rockefeller Center rink, it's too chilly not to consider going for a skate. 



The Rink at Riverbank State Park

Riverbank State Park is a hidden gem in upper Manhattan. The park is elevated 69 feet above the Hudson River and offers some of the cheapest rink rates you'll find in NYC.

Winterland Rink at The Rooftop at Pier 17

Skate the skyline at Winterland Rink, New York City’s only outdoor rooftop ice rink. The Rink at Brookfield Place

The Rink at Brookfield Place is right near the financial district and is owned by US Olympians Melissa Gregory and Denis Petukhov.


Price: $17 90-minute public skate session, $5 Skate rental



Lakeside Brooklyn

171 East Dr.



Lakeside offers year-round seasonal activities, dining, and special events. Ice skating on two outdoor winter rinks makes Lakeside is Brooklyn the perfect recreational destination.


Price: $8 weekdays/ $12 weekends. Skate rental $8.71.



World Ice Arena

131-35 Avery Ave.



Flushing Meadows Park has a zoo, science center, and plenty of green space. It's also home to an ice skating rink.


Price: Adults and Kids under 12 $7 weekdays/$10 weekends. Skate rental $5.50



The Rink at Bank of America Winter Village

41 W. 40th Street



Bryant Park is a go-to winter destination for tourists. When you're done browsing the winter village you go for a skate around the rink.

Lasker Rink in Central Park

110th St. and Lenox Ave. in Central Park



Lasker Rink is one of two rinks in Central Park. The rink gets split into two halves for public skating and local hockey leagues.

The Rink at Rockefeller Center

Rockefeller Center b/w 48th and 51st St.



Rockefeller Center is the ideal backdrop for a winter adventure in NYC if you're willing to shell out a couple of extra bucks for this rink.

Wollman Rink

830 Fifth Ave.



Wollman is the second rink in Central Park. It is right near midtown and conveniently located near Fifth Avenue.

Sky Rink at Chelsea Piers

The indoor rink at Chelsea Piers is right on Pier 61. You can enjoy views of the Hudson River as you skate.

The Standard Ice Rink

The Standard Ice Rink is one of the coziest in the city. You can enjoy a full winter menu including mulled wine, hot chocolate, and a hot toddy.


Price: Adults $13, Kids 12 and under $6, Hotel guests free after 8pm, Skate rental $4



City Ice Pavilion

47-32 32nd Place



If you can't make it out to Flushing Meadows Park, on the other side of Queens you can skate at City Ice Pavilion.
