Science tells us that heat rises...
But if you’ve ever been on a windy roof during a NYC winter, it sure doesn’t feel like it. Now, before you start getting ready to fire off an email to us about how temperatures work - STOP. We only made that observation to segue into what we really want to talk about: how much we love a heated rooftop.
There's something enormously satisfying about staying warm near a heater while the air is otherwise frigid. It’s like you’ve beaten winter at her own game (if only for the duration of your stay on said heated rooftop).

Mr. Purple

We’d be absolute fools not to mention Mr. Purple at the proverbial rooftop of this article. Located on the 15th floor of Hotel Indigo, this rooftop bar and pool checks all the right boxes. Take the elevator up, settle in with a Stella Artois, and enjoy the view.
Magic Hour

As your photographer friend has found a way to mention at every opportunity, ‘magic hour’ is when light is at its absolute zenith of beauty. Magic Hour stays open long after that particular time of day has passed, but you’ll be too busy enjoying its Empire State Building skyline view to notice.
Harriet's Rooftop

Harriet’s Rooftop does a lot of things, and it does all of them right. From the views of the Manhattan skyline to their tasteful, reclaimed decor, Harriet’s is exactly what a rooftop bar should aspire to. Oh, and the FOOD! Come hungry, if you know what’s good for you.
Versa

If you’re looking for a stunning panoramic view of the city while staying warm and cozy, Versa’s heated rooftop is just what the doctor ordered. We recommend a charcuterie plate and a few Stella’s to complete the vibe. Casual but elevated (both figuratively and literally), Versa is a reliably awesome hangout.
PHD Terrace

PHD Terrace clearly got their degree in Heated Rooftop Studies, because they knocked it out of the park. The vibes are perfect, the food is great, and the temperature is exactly where you want it during winter. But wait, does it have utterly stunning views of the city? C’mon, we wouldn’t have included it if it didn’t.

Le Bain

Le Bain is French for The Bath. That’s not relevant, but it’s true. What is relevant, is their heated rooftop situation. If you’re in the mood for a clubbier-type rooftop experience, this is going to be your spot. Exceptional views of the city. Stella on tap. You won’t need to borrow someone’s sweater.
Lost in Paradise

If you’re going to get lost, paradise isn’t the worst place to do it. Unlike some dubiously named establishments, Lost In Paradise has more than earned its namesake. With its extravagant menu of tropical cocktails and tapas, this heated rooftop hang out feels like the opposite of winter.
Royalton Brasserie

Sometimes you go to a place and go “Woah. Whoever designed this knew what they were doing.” We have no idea who designed Royalton Brasserie, but we can confirm that they did, in fact, know what they were doing. A heated rooftop bar is almost always going to be pretty, but this place is straight-up gorgeous. Grab a Stella Artois and decide whether to stare at the city or the bar you’re currently at.
Restoration Rooftop

You know what luxury is? Luxury is realizing that you just ordered a lobster roll and a Stella at an opulent, heated rooftop bar in the best city on Earth. If you’re in the market for indisputably awesome things, you can realize exactly that at Restoration Rooftop.
