NYC Best Dog Parks

If your dog has been a heckin' good boy for the past three months then give him a biscuit and get his leash! Get your dogs back to their old sniffing ground at dog parks across the city. Here's our list of the top dog parks to take your four-legged friend.

Tompkins Square Park

ALPHABET CITY - MANHATTAN

Tompkins Square Park is more than a great people-watching spot, it’s also a great dog-watching spot. There’s a separate space for big dogs and small dogs so every dog can find their crowd. True story: there was an impromptu punk show in the park once and all the dogs in the big dog run started a circle pit. We have witnesses.

Prospect Park Dog Run

PARK SLOPE - BROOKLYN

Not necessarily a dedicated dog run but a huge grassy field where your pup can play during off-leash hours. During the weekends, there can be hundreds of dogs frolicking around. There’s also a dog beach area near the lake that’s clean and good if your dog needs a quick swim. We are 98% sure this is what heaven looks like.

Stuyvesant Park Dog Run

STUYTOWN - MANHATTAN

Local dogs and owners alike love this tree-filled and clean dog park. Once your pooch is finally tired from all the running, there's a great on-leash square across the street with beautifully kept flowers and fountains. Also relevant: Stuyvesant Square is a famed location for romantic movies and shows, which means maybe your dog (and you) will find a more romantic reason to keep coming back.

Rockaway Freeway Dog Park

FAR ROCKAWAY - QUEENS

One of the largest and most beloved dog parks in the city, Rockaway offers 2.25 acres of fun and awesome features like picnic tables, free water, and a doggy playground for your puppy to practice their agility.

Sirius Dog Run

BATTERY PARK CITY - MANHATTAN

The Sirius Dog Run in Battery Park City's Gateway Plaza area is seriously one of the greatest spots in New York for your four-legged pal to run around — the park is paved and complete with shallow pools for all dogs to drink and splash in. Bonus point for the humans: the park also offers great sunset and waterfront views.

Carl Schurz Park

UPPER EAST SIDE - MANHATTAN

This park has not one, but TWO areas for your dog to run around, make new friends, and live his best life. Talk about thriving! Because of the extra space, do expect an extra amount of dogs as well. To enhance your experience, take a stroll around the promenade which offers a beautiful view of the East River.

St. Nicholas Dog Park

HARLEM - MANHATTAN

Located up in Harlem, this well kept dog park has volunteers coming in regularly to keep it nice and tidy. The only downside is the lack of water in the park, so make sure you pack some for you and your bud.

Hillside Dog Park

DUMBO - BROOKLYN

One of the largest off-leash dog parks in the city, Hillside has many amazing features for both dogs and the owners. Enjoy the many socializing areas while the dogs have almost over 2 acres of space to play. The park is also fenced and includes a wooded area for exploration, watering holes and a specific area exclusive for small dogs.

Silver Lake Dog Run

SILVER LAKE - STATEN ISLAND

Nestled in the spacious Silver Lake Park, you'll find this huge open dog park that is actually split into three separate areas for different-sized dogs to play comfortably. If your dog still has more energy, you can take him for a walk around the beautiful Silver Lake Reservoir.
