Brooklyn Brewery is a longtime Brooklyn staple and one of New York’s best-known breweries. It’s getting ready to open a bigger home at 1 Wythe Ave, with more room for beers, events, and hanging out. The taproom is temporarily closed during the move, so keep an eye out for reopening news. Best part: it’s still right down the block from Brooklyn Bowl. Dinner and a movie? More like beer and a show.
Ridgewood & DUMBO

Did we mention Mikkeller has an evil twin? The brewery began when Jeppe Jarnit-Bjergsø, twin brother of Mikkeller founder Mikkel Borg Bjergsø, decided to start his own brewery back in 2010. After years as a nomadic brewery, Evil Twin put down roots in Ridgewood, where its brewery and taproom now pour everything from hazies and stouts to smoothie-style sours and seltzers. They’ve also got a second taproom in DUMBO.

Located in the heart of LIC, Fifth Hammer has a casual taproom built for hanging with friends and working through a rotating lineup of house-made beers ranging from hazy IPAs and fruity sours to crisp lagers. Don’t sleep on live music every Thursday night or trivia on Tuesdays!!!
Glendale, Gowanus, & LIC

This Queens brewery may have started small, but Finback has grown into three taprooms with their own personalities. Glendale is the OG, Gowanus brings cocktails, coffee, and dumplings into the mix, and Long Island City gets experimental with unique brews, natural wine, and mezcal. So pick your player and come thirsty for their signature Rolling in Clouds hazy IPA or one of their rotating seasonal pours.
990 Metropolitan Ave | East Williamsburg

Formerly a nomadic brewery, Grimm Ales’ founders Joe and Lauren Grimm settled in East Williamsburg back in 2018. They specialize in yummy ales, sours, and dope AF can artwork, and they’re always dropping new beers, so we recommend following them on the gram for their latest selections. They've also got a rooftop terrace and Lala’s Apizza upstairs, making it a pretty ideal beer-and-pizza date spot.
52 34th St | Industry City

Gun Hill Brewing Company made history as the first brewery to bring beer-making back to the Bronx since the 1960s. While their Bronx brewery has closed, you can still grab their fresh, unfiltered brews at Gun Hill Publick House in Industry City. Stop by for a pint and a little taste of their Bronx-born roots.
Carroll Gardens, Williamsburg, & Midtown

Since 2014, Other Half has been brewing beers they actually want to drink, and plenty of locals agree. Their original Centre Street brewery still pours 20 drafts, while Domino Park adds views and Rockefeller Center puts fresh beer right in Midtown. Keep an eye out for new releases too, because getting your hands on a fresh drop can feel like scoring buried treasure.

SingleCut Brewery lives by the slogan “MASTERY KNOWS NO SHORTCUT,” and it’s pretty clear perfection is what they aim for. Founded in Astoria in 2012, they pair colorful cans and seriously good beer with an equal obsession for music. Their chic taproom has vinyl records, pinball, weekly pop-up kitchens, and plenty of events!

Strong Rope is worth the trip to Red Hook for the setting alone. The waterfront taproom has Statue of Liberty views, plus a lineup of beers made with local ingredients! Grab a pint, snag a spot outside, and time it for sunset if you know what’s good.
Manhattan & Brooklyn Locations

This female-founded brewery is all about making beer “easy to love.” Tara Hankinson and LeAnn Darland started TALEA after meeting at a NYC beer startup and realizing they shared some opinions about the craft beer world. Since then, they’ve expanded from Williamsburg to five taprooms across Brooklyn and Manhattan, with an Upper West Side location coming soon.

This Gowanus brewery spot not only prides itself on serving carefully crafted, fresh-tasting brews, but also on being a space that’s warm and welcoming to friends and newcomers. On top of their unique beers on tap, including the self-deprecating hazy IPA “I Hate Myself,” there’s an in-house coffee shop and intimate music venue, plus food options so you can pair a meal with your favorite pint.

Wild East is all about tradition over trends, using classic European brewing techniques to make lots of lagers, sours, farmhouse ales, and more. Beer buffs, take a second to appreciate this: they’re Cask Marque accredited, and nearly the entire staff are certified tapsters.
